No Tech 4 U! Students’ Stories of Tech Abstinence
What happens when first-year college students study their own digital technology use AND must give up technology for 24 hours? Students ultimately (a) accounted for their weekday/weekend tech use, (b) became aware of tech’s threads in their lives and in education, and (c) considered changes in their future tech use. We’ll share eight storylines of their experiences: FOMO, Relationship Breaker / Connector, Real-Life Blocker, Personal Assistant, Distraction / Addiction, and Educational Benefit.
