Overlooked Threat to Student Success – Economic Abuse

There are numerous factors that impact a student’s academic success, yet interference from someone they are dating isn’t often considered. A 2021 study found that 68% of teens reported experiencing education sabotage from a partner. Educators, parents and peers will hear from a youth-empowered panel to learn about the unique ways teens experience economic abuse, gain strategies to recognize this overlooked form of teen dating violence and connect with tools to support teens who may be experiencing economic abuse.
