Creating Kind School Communities

Kindness - acting with the intent to benefit another person or the greater good - is a skill and it must be taught. When we explicitly teach children to be kind, we are teaching them to be curious about the experiences and needs of others and to explore their own ability to impact others. But before we can ask teachers, parents, and other caregivers to teach kindness to children, we must first model kindness with them. We will explore ways to connect and care for school community members and lay the necessary foundation to teach kids to be kind.
