Karla Montalvo

Karla Montalvo is a special education teacher for Ector County ISD in Texas. In her current role, she has been recognized for her innovative teaching methods and her commitment to creating inclusive learning environments. She specializes in working with autistic students, teaching them essential life skills to prepare them for active participation in the community, establishing her as a community leader. She has a BA from Florida International University in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on humanities and cultural traditions. Before her current role, she was a paralegal and legal assistant for over 5 years which has allowed her to hone in skills essential for managing individualized education plans and ensuring adherence to educational regulations.
