Sophia Acevedo

Sophia Acevedo is the 2021 Texas recipient of the U.S. Department of Education’s Terrell Bell Award. As principal, her school received several TEA distinctions and they were named a DOE Blue Ribbon campus. She is an active member of Raise Your Hand Texas and has attended the Harvard Summer Institute for School Turnaround Leaders. Currently, Sophia works with new and experienced principals to simplify and prioritize the many complex duties of the principalship with a focus on balance.
