Michela Laverty

Michela Laverty is an educational consultant specializing in training teachers to support students receiving special education services. With expertise in inclusive practices and secondary transition planning, Michela has spent her career empowering educators to create equitable and engaging learning environments. She holds a Bachelor’s in Special Education from the University of New Mexico and a Master’s in Curriculum & Instruction. Michela’s impactful work includes introducing inclusive practices in a life skills program and founding a Unified Sports league through the Special Olympics, for which she was named 2022 Contributor of the Year. Through her consulting firm, Oly Able, she helps schools transform their special education programs on a broader scale.
