Mabel Inoa Mejia

Mabel is a rising junior at Fordham University majoring in Computer Science. As a young Dominican woman, she brings confidence and creativity to her work as a tech developer. Mabel’s journey to STEM began through game design after moving to the U.S. from the Dominican Republic in 2014 with her mother and her sister. She is a Teaching Assistant at Urban Arts, inspiring the next generation. “When I first heard about Urban Arts, I was intrigued; I had never thought it possible for a Hispanic woman to go into this field.” Her games have explored mental health during the pandemic, having players gently collect fireflies. This summer, Mabel is interning at Salesforce in San Francisco while maintaining a mentorship with Chad Rocco from Amazon Games.
