Carrie Smith

Carrie currently serves as the Director of Student Care & Outreach at the University of Georgia. The unit, which she co-created in 2016, provides individualized support and assistance to students, facilitates trainings and educational initiatives, and creates programming about holistic well-being. Carrie serves as the Co-Chair of UGA’s threat management team, and the Chair of an interdisciplinary team that addresses complex student needs. Carrie received a B.B.A.in Marketing from Mississippi State University, an M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi, and she holds a Ph.D. in College and Student Personnel Services from UGA. Carrie has previously worked in corporate public relations, K-12 admissions and counseling, and college scholarship programs and athletics.
