Jay Levin
Jay Levin is founder and president of a nonprofit advocacy campaign, EQuip Our Kids!, and of the California Social-Emotional Learning Alliance now with 5,000 educator members advancing SEL into state schools. Jay has led six media companies & launched six nonprofits focused on community needs. He's best known as the founder and former editor-in-chief and CEO of the multiple-award winning Los Angeles Weekly, which under his editorial & business leadership became the largest circulation & most advertising-rich urban weekly newspaper in the country. One of its coverage areas was the human development movement, in which he has been well trained and which led to his belief that SEL skills and mindset are essential to human progress and in fact to species survival.
