Breaking Barriers: How Sports Set Young Women Up For Success

Mar 3, 2025

2:30pm – 3:30pm CT

In this session, we’ll explore how sports empower young women and set them up for success. We’ll discuss the barriers that still exist and how we’ve built a program to break them down by providing access, opportunities, and representation. We’ll share data from a first of its kind large-scale, multi-generational, cross-sectional study of American girls and women aged 9 to 75. We’ll highlight how crucial it is to show young women what’s possible and demonstrate how sports are a powerful tool for leadership and empowerment, shaping the future for generations to come.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
