This session explores the transformative power of digital counterspaces for Black women and girls in higher education, particularly amidst recent challenges to DEI efforts. We will delve into how these online communities provide support, empowerment, and advocacy. Participants will learn about the concept of counterspaces, the impact of anti-DEI policies, and effective strategies for building and sustaining supportive digital communities. Examples of successful digital counterspaces will be highlighted to illustrate their role in fostering academic and emotional well-being.
