Jive to Thrive: Dance Workshop for Teen Health & Mind

Promoting teen mental health and wellbeing has never been more critical. But how to achieve this very important goal? This experiential workshop provides an alternative path to better mental health by harnessing the synergies and strengths of diverse dance styles, namely, Bharatanatyam (oldest Indian classical dance) and ballet to develop discipline and technique, jazz to encourage freedom of expression and movement, and hip-hop to emphasize empowerment. The workshop also conveys storytelling and mindfulness techniques through dance to help foster a sense of community, gratitude, and kindness.
