Strengthening Multilingual Communities Through Our Stories

Gloria Anzaldúa wrote, “Ethnic identity is twin skin to linguistic identity—I am my language.” In this highly interactive session, participants will explore cultural and linguistic identity through the sharing of their own experiences with learning language, both positive and negative. By first reflecting on their personal identity, beliefs, and practices, educators are then better prepared to learn from the stories of others, which in turn helps them to support diversity, inclusion and equity in their organizations and to implement effective multilingual education programs.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
