In recent years, The Leadership Academy and Surge Institute each separately launched affinity spaces for principals of color. In this conversation, you will hear anecdotal personal stories as well as the results of an external evaluation conducted on their programs that explains the impact of principal affinity groups and what aspects of a community is important for leaders to receive to thrive in the role. We will also discuss recommendations for school districts and policymakers not just to recruit but retain principals of color.
