Tarashaun Cain
TaraShaun R. Cain is the dynamic Executive Director of the Black Principals Network, where she channels over ten years of leadership in education to empower Black principals nationwide. Her journey through the ranks of Chicago Public Schools, as both a principal and assistant principal, showcases her dedication to enriching school environments and championing student success. As a trailblazer and first-generation college grad from Tennessee State University, TaraShaun transitioned from business to education, driven by a passion for transformative learning and servant leadership a passion magnified by her work with Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
Armed with dual master's degrees in Teaching and Education from Dominican University and National-Louis University, TaraShaun has been a pivotal figure in modeling authentic and collaborative leadership that empowers teachers to create rich learning experiences with high-quality and student-centered instruction. Her initiatives with organizations like LEAP Innovations have made significant strides in personalized learning and culturally responsive teaching.
A 2020 Surge Fellowship alumna, TaraShaun is passionate about servant leadership, relentlessly working towards equitable and empowering educational settings. Leading the Black Principals Network, she inspires educational leaders to embrace their potential through passion, perseverance, and positivity, making a lasting impact on the future of education.
