How to Be a Freedom Fighter
The right to read is under attack. The unprecedented attempts to remove books and cancel events in libraries and schools calls for ongoing resistance. The Unite Against Book Bans campaign leverages grassroots organizing to facilitate direct action in opposition to censorship attempts across the nation. New York Times–bestselling author Angie Thomas, student advocate Cameron Samuels, librarian Becky Calzada, and community organizer Betsy Gomez will discuss how censorship harms communities and threatens democratic principles and provide proven tools for fighting book bans.
