Angie Thomas

Angie Thomas is a speaker, producer, activist and author of the award-winning #1 New York Times bestselling novel The Hate U Give, which was adapted to film in 2018. Her book was followed up with On the Come Up, and Concrete Rose, as well as Find Your Voice: A Guided Journal for Writing Your Truth. Angie is an inaugural winner of the Walter Dean Myers Grant (2015), awarded by We Need Diverse Books. A former teen rapper who holds a BFA in creative writing, Angie was born and raised in Mississippi, but now calls Atlanta her home.
