Explore Forbidden Design: Psychedelic Medicine at Stanford

This session is part of the special 2024 Crossover Day. Attendance is open to all SXSW EDU badgeholders as well as all SXSW badgeholders. As always, SXSW strongly believes in the power of mixing creative communities.

Gain insight into designing for expanded realities with a behind the scenes look into Stanford University d.school’s first ever class on psychedelic medicine. This pioneering course was taught as a microcosm of the whole, exploring the vast landscape of opportunities and constraints that exist in order to provide people with safe, ethical, equitable access to care. You’ll also hear how the teaching team grappled with what’s safe and ethical to teach, and how to adequately prepare students (and ourselves) as potential future designers of this complex, emergent ecosystem.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
