Policy to Practice: Literacy Equity Through the CO READ Act

Every child deserves an equitable literacy education. Over 31 states have passed new laws designed to bring reading instruction in line with cognitive science research. Colorado’s READ Act took this one step further to require professional learning for educators and school leaders in the science of reading. To date, over 28,000 educators have been trained in the science of reading. Learn how the state leveraged professional learning based on evidence-based instruction to provide the freedom promised by literacy for every child as they continue their journey of reaching their full potential.
