Microinternships at the Margins

MOOCs are scalable EdTech for up-skilling but have mainly been successful with highly resourced populations. Simply connecting the underserved, i.e., people experiencing homelessness, to the Internet is insufficient; to realize equitable opportunities, learning paired with incentives are needed. Work-Learn pays adults experiencing homelessness for completing real-life projects that build portfolios, providing the skills and scaffolding to enable attainment of financially sustainable IT careers.
