We will be examining the existential crisis in academic freedom within higher education most recently illustrated by Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick's threat to abolish academic tenure in Texas. The session will discuss the motivation and implications of recent attacks on academic freedom nationally as well as the burgeoning faculty resistance movement.
