Should incoming college and university students learn about free speech? How do we connect free speech principles with identity and inclusion? In this session, we'll talk about teaching free speech in first year orientation and the impact it can have on students' academic growth and sense of community. Drawing on ADL’s new Hate/Uncycled tools for new students, we'll show how free speech can be used to promote diversity and inclusion and to counter hate and bias incidents on campus.
