Empathy as a Radical Act

History and our personal experiences shape our perceptions, beliefs and attitudes about other communities of color. These multiple truths exist in tension with one another. What if we name white supremacy as the root of racial divide, stratification, and violence between communities of color but do not center it? We will examine anti-blackness and the theory of colorblind racism and racial hierarchy in the U.S., highlighting significant moments and studies in research.
