When They See Me: Pedagogy & Sense of Belonging
Caring encounters with faculty are strongly related to positive psychosocial and academic outcomes — regardless of students’ academic major and demographic background. Unfortunately, finding teachers who genuinely care becomes challenging in college. Our panel will: 1) share a short video series and resource guide to prescribe strategies for improving pedagogical caring (PC); 2) conduct Q&A session; and 3) engage audience members in an interactive call to action on improving their own PC.
