Co-Designing Communities for Playful Learning
Children in the US spend 20% of their waking time in school and 80% at home or in the community. Playful Learning Landscapes transforms public spaces like parks, supermarkets, and bus stops into hubs for play and learning. Linking developmental and education sciences, urban design, and community cultural values provide an avenue for urban infrastructure that promotes playful learning, community advocacy, and educational equity. This session offers direct examples and guidance for implementation.
