What Happens When You Eliminate the Cafeteria?

On the first day of school, 4,000 Winton Woods students won’t experience “where should I sit at lunch” jitters. That’s because the school district eliminated its cafeterias… and its classrooms… and some of its principal’s offices. Why? Because the students told them to. This panel shares how student voice led to cutting-edge spaces specifically designed to support project-based learning on two new urban campuses—as told by the students, educators, administrators and designers who made it happen.
