The Pedagogy of Horror
We realized long ago that our students consume horror films and literature at a much higher level than they do nongenre content. Rather than diminishing this consumption as we have in the past it is time that teachers meet their students where they are. Teachers of all subjects should embrace genre content to help teach even the most basic curriculum. Through embracing genre content and a problem based model of education teachers can help better prepare their students for 21st century learning.
