Greenbelt Hike & Toolkit with Explore Austin

Date TBA

This hike is designed to give educators a toolkit for taking students on a hike around Austin's Greenbelt from Barton Springs to Barton Skyway. We will provide handouts that outline a general lesson plan and provide TEKS. While on the hike, time will be allotted for a roundtable discussion where participants can give input and other ideas/strategies for conducting a successful hike for your students. Participants can also network and discuss the benefits of nature in education. Topics may include but are not limited to: Benefits of outdoor education, How you can include the outdoors into your curriculum, Using nature to aid in trauma therapy, How outdoor adventure activities enhance group dynamics, etc. Space is limited to the first 28 attendees.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
