Julia Handelman is an experienced teacher and curriculum writer for elementary school classrooms. She is the Co-Founder and Director of Youth Yoga Project, a non-profit organization committed to providing access to yoga and mindfulness to K-12 students to improve their physical, social, and emotional well-being and increase their academic success. Julia has partnered with other education nonprofit organizations such as EL Education and Great Minds to create and provide curriculum and professional learning opportunities for teachers across the country. She specializes in creating engaging, student-centered curriculum that empowers students in inquiry based instruction. She has worked as a researcher and classroom teacher in New York City, Bologna, Italy, and Columbus, Ohio. She received a Masters of Arts in Elementary Education from Teachers College at Columbia University and a B.A. from Oberlin College.
