Vanessa Nisperos is a licensed social worker. She brings years of experience in NYC and California school based and afterschool youth service provision and nonprofit leadership development. She is currently the Director of Professional Development at Red Hook Initiative, a youth service social change organization. As the designer and lead trainer of the organization’s professional development strategy, she assesses the core competencies and training needs of 55 staff in various front line and supervisory capacities. Having trained, coached, and supervised both clinical and non clinical staff in youth serving programs, counseling service provision, case management, and community organizing and advocacy, she is adept at bridging various skill levels and professional roles in each training. With a core interest in youth and young adult serving organizations, she is highly skilled in connecting the personal, professional, and political milieu that informs each person's practice approach.
