Naihobe Gonzalez is an education researcher at Mathematica. She collaborates with local communities, school districts, foundations, and non-profits to conduct actionable research and promote evidence-based decision making. Her work includes evaluations of policies and programs aimed at helping youth from marginalized backgrounds graduate from high school and attend and complete college. Currently, she oversees an evaluation of Oakland Unite, a network of violence prevention services for high-risk youth and young adults in Oakland, CA. Previously, she was the co-principal investigator of a researcher-practitioner partnership with the Oakland Unified School District and served as a strategic fellow at the district. Naihobe's work has been featured in NPR Ed and Education Week. She holds a Ph.D. in economics from Columbia University.
