Dr. Pinnock is a Black Feminist Anthropologist and owner of Building Future Legacies for Young Scholars (BFLYS), a higher education consulting firm. She is LGBTQIA-Affirming and deeply committed to helping college-bound, undergraduate, and graduate scholars succeed in academic and non-academic career paths. Her firm also provides professional development workshops for academic professionals and K-12 educators. Through her consultancy, Dr. Pinnock attends to the socio-emotional needs of students and educators by utilizing a trauma-informed praxis that’s designed to help clients transform trauma-informed experiences into strategies of empowerment. BFLYS also consults with tech startups and mid-size firms to unpack the policies and procedures that create toxic, unproductive work environments and guides companies through the development of culturally inclusive environments. Dr. Pinnock has taught at Columbia University and throughout the CUNY and SUNY systems.
