Alicia Tanpreet Johal is the assistant director for the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Thinking at the San Diego Jewish Academy. She worked in public schools for 7 years prior, teaching 7th and 8th grade science, biotechnology and marine biology. During this time, she served as a science curriculum specialist, district underwater robotics coordinator and new teacher induction mentor. Alicia is an equity warrior who works to create opportunities on and off campus for her students to have access and achievement in science. She has been recognized by state and federal programs for her work creating inclusive STEM programs, building community partnerships, and being a champion of equity. She is passionate about her work as an educator and strives to bring meaningful change to classrooms by ensuring access, cultivating equity and providing hope.
