Marylin Zuniga
Marylin Zùñiga is an educator organizer from New Jersey and currently a 1st grade teacher at Achieve Academy in East Oakland, CA. She has her BA in Family & Child Studies, K-6 teacher certification from Montclair State University and her MA in Curriculum & Teaching from Teachers College, Columbia University. She is co-founder of Newark Books & Breakfast, a monthly community-based program for local youth and families that provides free books and healthy breakfast. She is co-founder of Sisterhood Now Leadership Project, a Bay Area leadership program designed to promote sisterhood and activism in young women of color in Oakland. A public speaker, and educational consultant in K-6 curriculum design Marylin believes education is a calling and she makes sure to lead with spirit and center love in everything she does.
