Frances Deviney
Frances Deviney is an independent consultant with a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology and a deep passion for using data to drive decision making. A former nonprofit executive, Frances has over 15 years of experience using data to set a vision for systemic change. She served as the Director of the Texas Kids Count project, then Associate Director and finally Chief Operating Officer at the Center for Public Policy Priorities. Frances has also worked with the Southwest Educational Development Lab to support high-poverty, low-performing schools and districts as they become high-performing education systems; as a Legislative Director at the Texas House of Representatives; and as a research analyst with the Families and Schools Together project at Vanderbilt University. Based in Austin, she is currently working with the Annie E. Casey Foundation to incorporate racial-ethnic equity into their youth and young adults initiatives. But her most important job is as mom to a very news-curious 13-year-old.
