Easy Is Boring: Design for New Knowledge

How can materials and environments facilitate child-directed learning? This hands-on workshop explores how play, trust, and open-ended materials invite conditions for curiosity and learning uninhibited by teacher assumptions. These along with art-based reflection are meta-cognitive tools allowing children to explore and manifest knowledge, developing concepts that adults may not yet comprehend. Participants will learn about the ideal conditions to see the full capacity of the child.
