What materials and environments create child-directed learning? Anji Play, a play-based curriculum from China, and Rigamajig, a large-scale building set, invite conditions for learning uninhibited by teacher assumptions. Open-ended play and art-based reflection are meta-cognitive tools allowing children to explore and manifest knowledge, developing concepts that adults may not yet comprehend. Participants will learn about the ideal conditions to see the full capacity of the child.
