How Abstinence-Only Programs Harm LGBTQ Youth

LGBTQ young people have questions about identity, HIV, consent, and other health topics, but are being met with sex ed curricula that refuse to acknowledge their existence. All students should be equipped with the knowledge they need to make healthy decisions — and sex ed is a critical component of education, just like math and reading. This panel will convene a journalist, youth activist, and a leader of a sex-ed YouTube series to discuss the importance of inclusive, honest, sex ed.

Programming descriptions are generated by participants and do not necessarily reflect the opinions of SXSW.
