Questioning Diversity in the K-5 Curriculum
The purpose of this session is to take a deeper look at the historical figures included in the Texas elementary standards and comparing the demographics of these figures to current student populations to highlight the discrepancy between the two. An open dialogue amongst session organizers and attendees will center around the suggested inclusion of more diverse historical and noteworthy figures.
