Youth Engagement in Disaster Response

Young people have played an increasingly crucial role in disaster response, through professional and career development, in collaboration with FEMA and other disaster relief organizations, that engage their members, not only in the classroom, but bring the learning out into the field. Disaster recovery, a largely volunteer-driven movement, requires the service-minded young people to respond immediately and effectively to begin the long road to recovery of the communities impacted.
