Facial recognition cameras. Voice assistants and listening devices. Browser plugins that track what students do online. For the sake of safety and security, schools are turning to tools that can collect and monitor data in unprecedented ways. But how much surveillance is acceptable? What are the implications for student privacy rights? And what are the unintended consequences that few have thought about?
