The Uberization of Teacher Education

While enrollments in traditional undergraduate teacher education programs continue to decline, enrollments in independent teacher credentialing programs continue to grow. In this talk I situate the work of these programs and the foundations that sponsor them within the current education reform movements in the U.S., I relate their actions to economic “disrupters”—such as Uber—and I discuss the deleterious effects on Black and Brown students in low-income communities.
