Students Informed About Learning Improve Teaching
The University of Texas at Austin recently implemented a program to empower entering students to become agents of change in improving the quality of their own education. Data from the first year of implementation, during which new students learned about the fundamental principles of learning, memory, and skill development and were provided regularly structured opportunities to practice applying those principles in their own learning, illustrate the effects on learning and teaching at UT.
