A School District's Role in Economic Equality

This session will discuss the role of school districts in leading greater economic equality and wealth ownership for African-Americans and women by ensuring employees receive a living wage—a wage that is high enough to maintain a normal standard of living. Hear directly from a school district that led the charge and learn more about the action that was the tipping point for other organizations in our community to follow our lead, bringing large change throughout Shelby County in Memphis.
