Recording: Does This Tech Work? Rethinking Efficacy Research, Mar 7, 2019

How can we prove learning technology works? Randomized controlled trials (RCT) are the gold standard in efficacy research, yet they are costly and raise ethical issues. We can do better. We can democratize research through big data, machine learning and learning science. In this session, a data scientist shares new ideas for how we can structure efficacy research. Can we overcome RCT limitations while preserving rigor? Can we democratize efficacy by making it an intrinsic part of tech design?
