Localizing Global Ed to Strengthen Communities
As demographic shifts make U.S. communities more culturally diverse, tech changes our interactions, and globalization impacts local economies, borders between “global” and “local” issues blur. Global competence in schools can support social cohesion in local communities—to shift dialogue from deficit-based to asset-based—and engage a range of stakeholders to create more inclusive, adaptive learning environments. We'll examine the “localization” of global learning to strengthen communities.
