A Healing-Centered Approach to Girls’ Leadership Development

How do we educate young women and girls about barriers and backlash to leadership while, at the same time, encouraging them to lead? Our research shows that using a cohort-based learning model to educate about stereotypes and bias can lead to collective healing that has the power to transform individuals into change agents - advocating for themselves, their community and broader social change. In this session, we will share our program’s practices and pedagogies as well as new and exciting research findings on how this approach impacts young women’s and girls’ leadership development.
