The Race to Secure 1 Million Teachers of Color
Even before the pandemic began, a teacher shortage was on the horizon. COVID-19 accelerated this shortage, particularly with teachers of color, and now 40% of schools don’t have a single teacher of color on campus. The future of education, and teaching, will require rethinking how to train, recruit and retain teachers who represent the students they serve. This panel will explore a national initiative to add 1 million teachers of color over the next decade, and how to make this goal a reality.
