Cherie Animashaun

Cherie Animashaun is the founder of Her Rising Initiative, a nonprofit focused on closing the opportunity gap nationwide and increasing the number of women in leadership positions. Her Rising hosts statewide "Girls Who Lead" conferences, with free workshops in STEM, humanities, business, and more to middle school girls. Cherie is currently studying policy on a pre-law track at Cornell University, she is passionate about advancing policy to better the lives of youth and marginalized communities. Cherie was a speaker at the 2024 White House Youth Policy Summit and has led numerous projects to increase youth engagement in policy and leadership.
