Amaya Joseph
Amaya was born in Beaufort, SC and moved around the country due to her being a military child. She began her serious ballet training at The Ballet Studio in Murrieta, CA directed by Mark Erickson. Amaya attended Orlando Ballet School under the direction of Diedre Miles Burger and later attended The Washington School of Ballet as a trainee, under the direction of Xiomara Reyes and Rinat Imaev. Amaya attended summer intensives at Miami City Ballet, Houston Ballet, Boston Ballet, & Pacific Northwest Ballet. From ages 9-15, she also competed at Youth America Grand Prix, winning awards in both classical and contemporary categories. Amaya has been a Brown Girls Do Ballet ambassador from ages 11 to 18. In 2024, she joined Ballet Austin as a second company member.
