Rashi Jawade
Rashi Jawade, the CEO of Embracing Equity is an accomplished leader in education diversity, equity and inclusivity (DEI) with almost two decades of experience dismantling systemic inequities in schools and empowering educators, administrators, and leaders with the tools to build more inclusive and just learning environments. Prior to her current position she served as the Chief Strategy Officer for five years, where she spearheaded Embracing Equity’s strategic growth and business development.
Prior to joining Embracing Equity, Jawade was the VP of Strategy for the Branch Alliance for Educator Diversity where she worked with minority-serving higher education institutions, such as historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and tribal colleges, to diversify the teaching workforce. She also previously worked for Deans for Impact as their director of special projects and Baltimore City Public Schools as the special assistant to the CEO.
Jawade’s background as an attorney, combined with her lived experiences as a first-generation Indian American with Marathi roots, has given her unique insights into the intersection of culture, policy, and education.
Jawade received a BS from the University of Maryland and her JD from University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law.
